Find help or find work here. Care.com matches providers with people looking for child care, special needs care, tutoring & lessons, senior care, pet care & housekeeping. If you are looking for work simply post your experience, and a picture. You can also submit pre-recorded references. The Care.com service is free for job searchers, however there is a nominal fee for a background check which I highly recommend.
You will be sent an email each time a position matching your qualifications is posted. You can check out the job posting and then decide if you want to contact the person through the website. Care.com was founded in 2006 and is growing rapidly. The service is available in 40 major cities.
For $10.00 a month, you can be listed as a “featured caregiver” and your listing will shoot to the top of the page. My daughter has been using this site to find part-time jobs for tutoring and baby-sitting for over a year. When she first started out, she was a “featured caregiver” for two months and it brought her a lot of jobs. She then cancelled the paid membership and contacted her employers directly. She had more babysitting and tutoring jobs than she could handle.
If you are looking to hire someone, a basic membership is free but that does not give you access to a background check. To have access to background checks, it will cost you $30 a month or $60 for 3 months. Based on my experience, you should be able to find someone right away. Be sure and cancel your paid membership or it will renew automatically.
Basic common sense-when my daughter was a minor, I went with her and met the families that she would be working for before she began. There are creepy people everywhere, fortunately our experience with Care.com has been very good.
