Earlier in the week I was showcasing my friend Mindy’s website and I featured some of her fall decorating ideas for less (view those here). I think she really outdid herself today with this flower garland made from old books. Don’t you agree? Stop by her site and get inspired!

Have you been guessing what I was creating from all of those leaves cut from the pages of vintage books? Well here is my final product. I’m thrilled with the way my leaf garland came out and I’m in love with the way it looks draped across my mantle! It was such a fun project. I had a pile of used books that I had purchased from my local library and this was the perfect way to use them.

Here’s an up-close view of my leaf-bundles: I cut them free-hand in multiples, stapled groups of 3 or 4 together, hot glued an acorn onto each bunch and strung them on some twine. A relatively simple project, with a stunning result! I’m sticking with a neutral pallet for all of my decor as I’m prepping my house this week for my Fall Entertaining Video. I have so many fun DIY things in mind. Check back for inspiration for your own Fall decorating!
