Easy Recipe for Homemade Lemonade

When life gives you lemons, why not make homemade lemonade?  Here is my family’s easy, inexpensive, tried and never lasting long lemonade recipe.  This is a staple all summer in our house and a huge favorite with the little boys.  I recommend that you buy  the honey and lemon juice at the warehouse stores as they are much less expensive there overall.  Plus, making it yourself is much less expensive than store bought and worlds tastier.   Enjoy!

Ingredients for a 2 quart pitcher:

1/4 Honey (spray measuring cup with non-stick spray, honey will just slide out)

1/3 cup sugar

1/2 cup Lemon Juice (fresh squeezed or bottled)

Boiling Water

In a 2 quart pitcher add sugar and honey and enough boiling water to fill it 1/4 full.  Stir until both are dissolved.  Add lemon juice and enough cold water to fill pitcher.  Chill and serve.

-Strawberry Lemonade Variation:  Add 6-7 frozen or fresh strawberries to the hot water mixture and stir.  Add cold water and chill overnight.  Stir before serving.  This is my favorite.  In my opinion it is outstanding.
