Ready or not, here come the holidays. With Halloween in the rear-view mirror, its now full speed ahead. As busy Moms, we can sometimes enter into this season dragging our feet a bit. It’s the most wonderful time of the year, but the holidays also come with a huge to-do list, expectations, extra commitments and expense.
Sometimes its hard to get in the mood.
I was sent the Febreze Holiday Inspiration kit and it is just so adorable. The kids are delighting in playing with the packaging. It is bound to make you joyful watching them interact with the reusable display. It really did put a smile on my face and get me excited to unpack it.
I am enjoying the scents included in the kit including Frosted Pine, Apple Tart, Toasted Almond, Vanilla Latte, and Sugared Cranberry.
I am starting with the Vanilla Latte and the Toasted Almond, (love these!) and will work my way into the Sugared Cranberry and Apple Tart closer to Thanksgiving. I will break out the Frosted Pine in December. We have gone to an artificial tree in the last few years so adding the pine scent will be perfect.
Do you prefer having a different holiday scent for each room or one for the entire house? I prefer one scent at a time and I like for my house to smell nice!
I have a keen sense of smell so odors really bother me. I am always sniffing around and my family will ask, “now what are you smelling?” Dirty laundry, dogs, backpacks, sports equipment, to name a few. I want my guests and my family members to only notice the fresh holiday scents.
The box that is packaged in, folds open to form the Christmas display. The kids have had a great time making little scenes inside the “Christmas house.”
For a limited time, the Febreze scents kit are available at Walmart. The holiday kit would make a lovely hostess gift or teacher gift.
Next I am going to explore the ideas included inside the recipe box. In addition to the easy coffee scrub gift idea, I am going to try the pine-cone wreath, follow the steps to making flavored coffee drinks at home, instructions to make candied toasted almonds, and make the recipe for apple tarts, one of my husband’s favorite desserts.
Here is what you will need:
A jar with an airtight lid
1/2 cup ground coffee
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup melted coconut oil
1/2 tbs nutmeg
1/2 tbs cinnamon
3 – 4 drops of vanilla extract
Just combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl and then use a fork to mix in the oil and vanilla. Transfer to the jar. Tie with ribbon or raffia!
How do you get in the mood to get your home holiday ready? When do you start to decorate? The smells of the holidays evoke happy memories for me. I hope they do for you too. #FebrezeHoliday
