Make your own dishwasher soap, laundry soap (even HE), fabric softener, Windex, Fabreze, Chlorox Clean Up, rinse aid, daily shower cleaner & Carpet Fresh. While searching around on Pinterest, a favorite past time of mine, I came across a great pin by Building It On Pennies on very simple to make these extremely inexpensive household recipes.
Check out just how many dollars you can save!
- Make a batch of dishwasher soap for $.78 that does 32 loads of dishes.
- Homemade Rinse Aid only $.04
- Daily shower cleaner – roughly $.11 a bottle that will last about 7 weeks
- Fabreze – $.15 for 32 ounces!
- Spray bottle of Windex $.27
- Chlorox Clean Up – maybe $.02
- 160 loads of laundry soap for less than $6. (The Duggar’s use this recipe also)
- 202 loads of fabric softener (a batch) it cost $1.26
Are you intrigued? And the batched last so long that making these recipes in an every couple of months project so you will have plenty to last a long while.
My recommendation would be to start with 1 or 2 to spread any start up costs you may have if you need to buy spray bottles or buckets and such. I think I will give the homemade fabric softener, laundry detergent and rinse aid a try since I am almost out of Tide and am out of fabric softener.
