Did you know that you can use a layaway plan for your next vacation?
Starting with as little as $100, you can start a layaway for a vacation using a payment plan. The Orange County Register Business Section, May 27th 2013, had some sources to check out to pay for your vacation using an installment or layaway plan.
Check with a travel agency in your area to see if they offer this service and ask about the payment schedule (it is usually very flexible) the cancellation fee and any service fees. Ask what happens if you change your mind or if you have to cancel.
For a cruise, travelers can book more than a year in advance. Airfares can usually only be booked 11 months in advance.
In addition to a travel agent, here are two other options that I found to put your vacation on a layaway installment plan:
British Airways offers a layaway vacation package with full payment due 10 weeks before your departure.
It might be advisable to also take out travel insurance for an expensive vacation which will add an extra $10 to $149 per person.
