My regular readers know that I love to dig around in thrift stores. You can often find me at a Goodwill of Orange County stores scoring designer clothes on a dime and for decor for my home. Goodwill has been a source of inspiration and savings for me since my kids were small, many years ago.
Are you looking for how to make a three tiered plate stand? We found the items we needed at our favorite Goodwill store. Follow the easy steps!
If you enjoy thrift store shopping or re-purposing the old into the new, you will love the Pinterest board that I have put together. It’s full of great ideas and inspiration.  You can view it here:  Goodwill Finds Repurposed, plus I add new ideas often.
On a recent Goodwill trip, my friend Mindy from Mindy Laven Interiors and I found some lovely crystal candlesticks and plates at Goodwill. When we displayed them together, it looked like we just came from an estate sale!

After a little brainstorming, we created a three-tiered stand to use on your table.
using levels to decorate your table
One of the many tips that Mindy has taught me is to use varying heights and levels when decorating.
Not only are these plate stands great to have to display candy, desserts or decor, you can also give them as gifts. If you see one or two plates from a collection or a pattern that a friend uses, make them a three-tiered plate stand as an inexpensive and lovely gift.
These plate stands can also be used on a vanity or dresser to display pretty soaps or your favorite jewelry. For decor purposes, (not for food,) you could spray paint the plates and candlesticks with a non-toxic paint for a uniform look.
Here’s what you’ll need to create your own plate stand: (You can make it as high as your would like!)
•  Two to Three Glass Dinner Plates  (vintage or clear are both nice choices)
•  Two to Three Glass Tapered Candleholders
•  Glass Glue

If you haven’t shopped your local Goodwill lately, Now’s the time! Goodwill of Orange County is definitely one of the places I go to get some inspiration and to purchase incredible decor items at amazing prices.
