Get a Refund When the Price Drops – Price Protection Policies

By Lori, Last updated on January 11, 2021
The links in the post below may be affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

What stores will refund you difference if the price you paid drops? Don’t you hate it when that happens? Learn the price adjustment policies of your favorite stores and get a refund when the price drops.

Did you know that you can get a refund when the price drops from many popular stores. See the price adjustment policies and participating stores.

I recently purchased something from Overstock.com and then got an email with a promo code for 15% off. I went to the Overstock.com website and clicked on the “live chat” option. I asked for the price difference and $22 was credited back to my card. It took less than 3 minutes! Your results may vary but it is worth a few minutes of your time to try.

I recently was told about this from one of my savvy readers. I have not yet tried it, have you?

You can also get the free Paribus APP and let them monitor your purchases for you. If they find a price adjustment, you will get it back but they do take a commission for doing the work for you. Read more about how Paribus works.

Amazon.com does not advertise a price protection policy, however, I have heard from several readers that if you contact them within 7 days of the delivery date of your item, for an item that was shipped and sold by Amazon.com, they may refund you the difference.

I did this with an ereader purchase several years ago and got a $60 credit from Amazon.com. Do you have recent experience with the Price Protection Policy at Amazon.com that I can share?

** 2021 update- Many stores have suspended or changed their price protection policies during this challenging season. I will update the list with current information as soon as conditions dictate. Stay safe my friends.

We check this list by verifying with each store. If you hear of any other stores that will give you a refund when the price drops, or if a store policy has changed, please let us know in the comments or drop us an email so we can update our post. Thank you for being part of our savvy saving community!
