What is Walmart’s new Savings Catcher Program?
Update: Effective 2/14/2015, Savings Catcher will not apply to produce and bakery items. Additionally, Walmart is limiting comparisons to offers of other mass market retailers, grocery and dollar stores and removing comparisons with drug stores. You can still price match to drug stores.
Walmart will pay you the difference back in a gift card, if another store is offering lower prices on items you purchased at Walmart. and, Walmart does all the price research for you!
The Savings Catcher Program was being tested in several cities over the last few months and now (as of August 4th, 2014), it is available nationwide.
It is so easy and if you are a Walmart shopper, you should now get in the habit of taking one small extra step and submitting your receipt and let Walmart give you the difference back if local competitor stores have lower prices.
Yes, that’s right- Walmart does the work for you, checks local competitors prices and if they have a lower price than what you paid, you get the difference back in a Walmart Rewards eGift Card. All you need to do is go to SavingsCatcher.Walmart.com and enter your receipt number (found near the bottom of your printed receipt – the TC number)
Or you can scan the code at the bottom of your receipt into the Walmart APP – Saving Catcher section. A big thanks to I Heart the Mart for the details!
You can submit up to 7 receipts each week and their is no minimum purchase requirement. You can still use coupons too. Savings Catcher will compare the original Walmart price of the item before you applied the coupon. The program is only available for in store purchases and not for online shopping.
All you do is enter your receipt number and Walmart does the rest. You will be sent an e-gift card for the price difference.
