Here is the list of items I used to make my Patriotic Mason Jar craft:

Navigate This Article

Trader Joe’s

They have these gorgeous flowers in stock right now in red, white and blue (purple but close enough). If you cannot find them, use red or white.

Walmart

Pro tip – order online and choose pick up for the delivery. Go to the designated area at your local Walmart and just wait in your car while someone brings them right to you!

Canning Jars

White Acrylic Paint – I used Snow White Acrylic Paint in Matte Finish. I bought 2 of them and ended up only using 1 to make 8 jars with 3 coats.

Foam Paint Brushes

Sanding Block – I used fine.

Twine – you can substitute ribbon in patriotic colors.

Hobby Lobby

(4th of July items on sale right now)

Mini American Flags

Pinwheel Picks

Glitter Star Picks

How to Make Patriotic Canning Jars

paiting canning jars with white acrylic paint for 4th of July centerpieces

  • Paint the canning jars with two coats of white Acrylic paint. Let each coat dry completely. I left mine on my covered patio overnight.
  • Lightly sand to distress the jars. Be sure to sand the raised areas.
  • Tie some twine around your jar in a bow or knot.
  • Fill with patriotic pics and mini flags
  • Add water and add your flowers

Optional – you can spray the jars with a clear coat of sealant to keep the paint from chipping.

My granddaughter is having a patriotic-themed birthday party this weekend. She was my little helper! I think my patriotic mason jar craft will look great on the tables!
