If you haven’t heard already, Bed Bath & Beyond has rebranded and is now merged with online retailer Overstock. I put together an information post along with some good deals because I was getting a lot of questions about how the merger would work.

Bed Bath & Beyond – An iconic brand

Bed Bath & Beyond is a well-known retail spot founded in 1971. They have always been one of my go-to places whenever I needed new home products.

Last April, they filed for bankruptcy. The company was seeking to sell all or some of its business. With this announcement, it was also reported that it would likely get entirely liquidated or go out of business if no buyer came forward. But as it became public last week, it’s been announced that Bed Bath & Beyond will now be part of Overstock.com.

Yes! As stated on their website, Bed Bath & Beyond is back and comes with a brand new website and mobile app.

Is Overstock Bed Bath and Beyond?

Buying Bed Bath Beyond is a strategy that Overstock CEO Jonathan Johnson who is also now the new Bed Bath & Beyond CEO emphasized in his statement. He laid out the historic significance of the rebranding and as the new owners, the company will be modernizing the outdated business model and positioning the brand as a larger and improved e-commerce retailer. “All physical stores of Bed Bath & Beyond won’t be used and at the time being, the company will remain as an online-only retailer. Several notable media outlets like NPR and NBC News have claimed that the remaining Bed Bath & Beyond stores are now permanently closed. “

What Will Happen to the Club O Loyalty Program?

Club O has been rebranded as Welcome Rewards, but rest assured that all Club O rewards remain unchanged. Even though it will have a new name, the login details of former Overstock.com loyalty program members will remain the same.

Is There an Overstock Bed Bath and Beyond Sale?

Everything is still in its early stages. However, it’s quite common for companies to announce special promotions and sales to celebrate a merger and also attract new customers. The specific details about sales events have not been disclosed yet, but I’m sure there will be exciting news in the coming months!

Is Overstock still accepting Bed Bath & Beyond gift cards?

One of my readers asked this important question in the comments (Thank you, Melissa!). I reached out to Bed Bath & Beyond and their representative has told me that gift cards from Bed Bath & Beyond have already expired and cannot be used on the new website. Any remaining earned reward balances associated with the former Welcome Rewards program through Bath & Beyond will be removed and the membership will expire. Additionally, there are no new gift cards yet for the new site.

Can you use expired coupons at Bed Bath and Beyond?

This happened but was only valid until May 7, 2023, with Big Lots. The store fully accepted both active and expired Bed Bath & Beyond coupons.

With the new Bed Bath & Beyond website’s debut on August 1, excited customers are greeted with a 25% off coupon. Customers will be able to get this welcome coupon when they download, sign in, or create an account using the Bed Bath & Beyond app.

I’m a little bit excited about this news because it means that we will not lose Bed Bath & Beyond’s great name. Customers will also be able to access a wide variety of items like home decor, bath items, small appliances, and more! I say this as a fan of the items and Overstock branding (insert Overstock post link).
