What Is The Difference Between Regular Sausage and Italian Sausage?

The Italian sausage is different from regular sausages because of the seasoning. Italian sausages are made with fennel seeds which gives them a unique taste. Fennel seed gives the sausage a licorice-like or mild anise taste. This flavor sets the Italian sausage apart from other kinds of sausages.
