Cheese Ball Recipe with Orange and Cranberry on a white plate

Enjoy the delicious seasonal flavor of this roll cheese ball at any time of year. I usually serve this for the Christmas season and made it for a couple of casual get-togethers at home. The subtle hint of sweetness adds to the already incredible set of festive flavors. I consider this a part dip, part dessert that the whole family can enjoy that won’t take a long time to make!

Kitchen Tips

  • If you’re planning to serve this Cranberry Cheeseball for an upcoming party, you can prepare it in advance. This is my favorite way of making this so I can have it on hand. After tightly wrapping the homemade cheese ball in plastic wrap (see second step below), place it in a freezer bag and freeze for up to one month. When this is ready to serve, thaw it at room temperature then coat in the pecan-cranberry mixture described below.
  • You can add goat cheese to this orange cheese ball recipe if preferred.

How To Make Cheese Ball with Orange and Cranberry

Step #1. Chop cranberries then combine whipped cream cheese, water, orange juice, and orange zest to a large bowl and stir to combine. Use a silicon spatula to scrape the sides of the bowl to ensure all ingredients are incorporated into the mixture.

Step #2. Place a piece of plastic wrap on a clean, dry work surface. Use the silicon spatula to gently scoop the cream cheese to form mixture on top of it.

Step #3. Wrap the plastic wrap around the cream cheese and gently shape into a ball with your hands. Cover the cheese ball completely in the plastic wrap and transfer to the refrigerator to chill for at least 30 minutes.

Step #4. Place pecans and fresh parsley with the remaining cranberries in a small bowl and toss until combined.

Step #5. Remove the cheese ball from the refrigerator and discard the plastic wrap. Place cranberry-pecan mixture on a round serving plate and gently press the cheese ball into the surface to cover.
