Best Traditional Snickerdoodle Cookies Recipe

This is the Best Snickerdoodle Cookies recipe you’ll ever try! They are easy to make, loaded with cinnamon flavor and so delicious.

What are the ingredients in Snickerdoodle Cookies?

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 egg, plus 1 yolk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 3/4 cup flour

For the Cinnamon Sugar

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

These delicious cookies are also great to give. For a thoughtful gift, put them in a Cello Bag and tie them with a ribbon.

Snickerdoodle Cookie Recipe Directions

#1. Preheat oven to 325°F.

#2. In a large bowl, mix butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar on medium speed.

#3. Add egg, yolk, vanilla, baking soda, cream of tartar, salt, and cinnamon and blend.

#4. Slowly add in the flour.

#5. For the cinnamon sugar, mix it in a small bowl then set aside.

#6. Scoop the dough and shape it into balls, then roll the balls into a cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat the cookies.

#7. Bake for 10 minutes. Enjoy!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup butter softened

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 325°F.
  • In a large bowl, use a mixer to blend butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar on medium speed.
  • Add egg, yolk, vanilla, baking soda, cream of tartar, salt, and cinnamon and blend together.
  • Slowly add in the flour.
  • For the cinnamon sugar, mix together the sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl then set aside.
  • Scoop dough and shape into balls, then roll ball into cinnamon sugar mixture to coat the cookies.
  • Bake for 10 minutes. Enjoy!
