Kitchen Notes & Tips
- Before preparing this recipe, check the recommended guidelines for chicken wings for your specific air fryer model.
- For best results, prepare the teriyaki-style sauce in advance to give the flavors a chance to fully develop for your delicious wings.
- We’ll be using Mirin for this recipe. Mirin is a sweet Japanese rice wine that gives teriyaki sauce its distinctive flavor. Important note: rice wine and rice wine vinegar are not the same. Rice wine vinegar is not an adequate substitute for this recipe.
- I used Swerve as a substitute for brown sugar because it’s a healthier alternative for the savory homemade teriyaki sauce.
