Project Sunlight – Watch Kids Making a Difference

Unilever Project SunlightWant to brighten your day and make your heart glad? Watch this short video called “The Way Kids See It” about kids making a difference called Project Sunlight. This optimistic video depicts kids from all across the globe discussing their hopes and dreams for a brighter tomorrow. Be sure and watch it with your kids. I hope you will be inspired, I was!

In November of 2013, Unilever launched Project Sunlight, a long-term initiative to motivate people to live sustainably by inspiring them to create a brighter future for children. It aims to create a growing community of people who believe it is possible to build a world where everyone lives well and lives sustainably, without compromising the needs of future generations.

Watching the video has opened up a discussion here about how our family can find more ways to be better stewards of what we have. We are teaming up with Unilever and Project Sunlight on their website to “Go Green in the Bathroom.” I must be honest here, I do recycle the obvious – the water bottles and newspapers but until now, I have not been recycling our plastic containers and empty toiletry containers in the bathroom. Sadly, it not even occurred to me to include them. I am working on a improving this and setting up a recycling center in our bathrooms. My niece Jamie is helping me to make some lovely containers that will serve as a reminder. More to share on this later! Small steps do add up. We do not need to send this trash to the landfills.

Thank you to Unilever Project Sunlight for sponsoring this post and helping me get up to speed with my recycling. All opinions are my own.

I hope you and your family will check out Project Sunlight to learn more. Their Summer Sunlight Activity section is an interactive series of fun, easy projects that encourages families to adopt new sustainable habits at home.

Be sure and check back to see the progress my family is making this summer with Project Sunlight!
